Connecting Students to Careers

Educators understand the importance of guiding students as they plan their futures – and it’s never too early to start. Learning Power career lessons help 8th-12th grade students connect classroom learning to real world work applications.

Students will explore high demand careers and employability skills, with role play to enforce concepts. Did you know skilled professionals, like electricians and welders, can earn up to $10,000 a year more than college grads? Or that Georgia Power offers paid summer internships for students to explore lineworking, power generation or metering?

Students will:

  • Understand the role that employability skills and why they need to master them as they enter the workforce.
  • Receive an introduction to in-demand careers; the necessary skills needed for those careers and the avenues that would allow them to obtain the necessary skills.
  • Recognize the careers that Georgia Power has to support energy efficiency.
