Travis Walker powers possibilities—from classroom to career.
Delivering meaningful, hands-on learning to Central Georgia classrooms, Travis often brings the outdoors along with him. Inspired by his love of hiking, fishing, and boating, he creates engaging, real-world experiences that help students connect what they learn to what they can do.
With 15 years in education as a high school Agricultural Education and CTAE instructor, Travis has built his career on making learning relevant and fun. His passion for mechanics—ranging from wiring and welding to engineering—drives his belief that students learn best by doing. As he puts it, “Exposure to real-world skills helps prepare well-rounded students who are ready for postsecondary education and the future workforce.”
Outside the classroom, Travis extends his impact through leadership and mentorship. As a Future Farmers of America (FFA) sponsor, he coached students to compete at the state level and loved watching their confidence take off as their skills sharpened. As a student advisor, he’s also championed scholarship opportunities and led construction and service projects that strengthen local community organizations.
Now, as the Energy Efficiency Education Coordinator serving Baldwin, Bibb, Crawford, Hancock, Houston, Jones, Monroe, Peach, Putnam, Pulaski, and Twiggs counties, Travis blends STEM learning with a strong focus on energy careers and skilled trades, helping students see just how many rewarding paths are open to them.
Travis earned a Bachelor of Agriculture and a Master of Agriculture Leadership, Education, and Communication from the University of Georgia. A Dublin native, he’s married with two children. When he’s not enjoying the great outdoors, you'll find him cheering on the Dawgs and the Atlanta Braves.
