Shenequa Gordon

Coordinator

Welcome Shenequa Gordon, Learning Power’s cool chemist who loves the Falcons and Prince (who doesn’t!).

Her first job after college graduation? A chemist for Miller Brewing Company...but Shenequa soon realized that her true passion was teaching future chemists.

Having taught high school physical science and chemistry for 12 years in Dougherty County, Shenequa loves seeing young minds make the connection between science and real-world applications. “Teaching students about science is my calling,” she explains. “I was so proud when one of my high school students entered a project in the school science fair that calculated the wind velocity of a thrown football.”

A graduate of Albany State University, Shenequa earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Master of Science degree in Education.

You’ll find her spreading her love of all things STEM as a Learning Power coordinator for Georgia's southwest region: Baker, Clay, Crisp, Decatur, Dooley, Dougherty, Early, Grady, Lee, Marion, Miller, Mitchell, Pelham, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Seminole, Stewart, Sumter, Terrell, Turner, Webster and Worth Counties.

Chill time might be with a good mystery book or some R&B tunes. But on Sunday’s, you’ll find Shenequa sporting her #11 jersey (forever a Julio fan) and cheering on the Falcons alongside her husband Keydrick Sr. and her son Keydrick Jr. And there’s really tasty food at Shenequa’s tailgate parties – we hear she’s quite the chef!

Grab your goggles, Bunsen burner and beakers…Shenequa is ready to cook up creative STEM lessons for your classroom!
