Georgia-born, Lisa Smith Bell is a retired teacher with nearly 30 years of classroom experience who started her career shaping young minds first as a social worker.
As a social worker, she was not only responsible for children but also supporting their families. From this work, Lisa’s passion grew to making an even greater impact on the lives of children and their parents. Bell believed that teaching would allow her a greater impact on both students and parents alike.
Ms. Bell is no stranger to the classroom whether in a traditional or non-traditional setting. She is very intentional about encouraging class participation, allowing students to learn where they are comfortable. When students enter Bell’s classroom they are no longer just students but her children. They will be loved like her own children and grandchildren.
“Each child becomes one of my own for that hour. I love to see those ‘ah-ha moments’ on their faces as gaps are bridged and new concepts are explored through our Energy Efficiency presentations. Learning is about giving and receiving. I like to make a lasting impression by giving kids the opportunity to speak up and verbalize their thoughts,” says Bell.
Lisa Bell has a Bachelor of Science in Applied Sociology from Georgia Southern College and a Masters of Science in Education from Walden University. Additionally, she completed her Education Specialist Degree in Teaching and Learning at Georgia Southern University.
She serves the following counties: Jefferson, Burke, Jenkins, Screven, Effingham, Bulloch, Evans, Tattnall, Candler, and Emanuel.
When Lisa’s not in the classroom, she’s either riding her rescued horse, Little Girl, or reading a book in her converted barn home with her three dogs: Trixie, Duke, and Zip.
