Kimberly Weaver is changing perceptions and viewpoints of potential careers at Georgia Power for its future workforce through her work as Learning Power Education Supervisor and Coordinator.
Weaver started her almost 30-year career at Georgia Power as an intern while finishing her undergraduate degree. Before becoming a Learning Power Education Coordinator, she worked closely with residential and commercial customers helping them become more energy-efficient, assisting with billing issues, and consulting with total electric residential and commercial builders.
Kimberly always wanted to be a teacher. The inception of Learning Power gave her the opportunity to teach within a company that she loves.
“First and foremost, I want students to see Georgia Power as a valued partner of their community. I am passionate and excited about enhancing the teacher’s curriculum by reinforcing real-life application of electricity and how to save energy. It’s important that boys and girls alike see themselves at Georgia Power. Sometimes students are surprised to learn that yes, women can be engineers or even lineworkers,” says Kimberly Weaver.
Kimberly is a graduate of Columbus State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.
Kimberly Weaver serves the following counties: Chattahoochee, Harris, Macon, Marion, Meriwether, Muscogee, Schley, Stewart, Talbot, Taylor, and Troup.
Few people know this but Kimberly was a competitive dancer for 14 years. When she’s not doing some form of exercise such as running, lifting weights, or walking, she’s gardening.
Kimberly Weaver resides in Hamilton, Georgia with her husband, two sons, and 13-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, Bo.
