Katie Weaver

Coordinator

In some form or fashion, Katie Weaver has been teaching or coaching young minds for much of her life.

Prior to joining Georgia Power, Katie worked as an elementary teacher in the Savannah and Athens areas. But even before that she was a cheerleading and gymnastics coach. She hasn’t lost her tumbling abilities either; she can still do a backflip on the trampoline but is feeling it for a few days, she says.

She was originally attracted to Georgia Power because of the growth potential. She’s seen the meaningful and positive change this company brings to its communities. As a change agent in the world, she’s committed to making a lasting impression on students and seeing them grow with Georgia Power by making the content applicable to all grade levels.

When you invite Katie Weaver into your classroom, your students will see someone who has a zeal to marry teaching and economic empowerment.

“I want students to know what opportunities are available to them. I’ll share unlimited opportunities and resources despite any perceived socioeconomic barriers of any kind.  I’ll spark their interest. There will be lots of light bulb moments! Young minds won’t only apply the information to their daily life but their future,” says Weaver.

Students will see a clear connection to why energy efficiency is important and how it’s present in their everyday life. They’ll find things that excite them, as well as learn how Georgia Power can support them now and beyond!

Katie attended The University of Georgia where she was an honor graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education.

She serves the Northeast region of the state of Georgia. Her counties include Banks, Barrow, Clarke, Commerce City, Elbert, Greene, Franklin, Hart, Jackson, Jefferson City, Madison, Morgan, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Social Circle City, Taliaferro, Walton, and Wilkes.
