Denise James calls herself an open book who never meets a stranger.

“I bring my bubbly personality to any learning environment. I set the stage for engagement by being personable, knowledgeable, and relatable. I would say my enthusiasm for the kids and material is unmistakably infectious in any classroom I’m in,” says Denise.
Denise is a graduate of Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Master of Science in Sociology, and Education Specialist in Teacher Leadership.
Prior to her position with Georgia Power, Denise taught high school Science in South Georgia and served as a cheerleading coach. In addition to her teaching career, she served as a facilitator for Project Learning Tree, a program that uses trees and the forest to increase student’s understanding of the environment and conservation methods to save them.
Denise serves the following counties: Baker, Brooks, Calhoun, Clay, Colquitt, Decatur, Dougherty, Early, Grady, Lee, Lowndes, Miller, Mitchell, Quitman, Randolph, Seminole, Terrell, Thomas, and Worth.
Fun facts? It’s really no surprise that Denise loves science, but she’s also a math whiz. Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, and even Accounting just come easy to her. And, she’s pretty confident she could win a jump rope competition one day.
