Denise James calls herself an open book who never meets a stranger. 

Go ahead and get your permission slips ready for your in-classroom field trip when you invite this Learning Power Education Coordinator to your classroom. 

“I bring my bubbly personality to any learning environment. I set the stage for engagement by being personable, knowledgeable, and relatable. I would say my enthusiasm for the kids and material is unmistakably infectious in any classroom I’m in,” says Denise James. 

Denise James is a graduate of Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Master of Science in Sociology, and Education Specialist in Teacher Leadership.

Prior to her position with Georgia Power, Denise taught high school Science in South Georgia and served as a cheerleading coach. In addition to her teaching career, Denise served as a facilitator for Project Learning Tree, a program that uses trees and the forest to increase student’s understanding of the environment and conservation methods to save them.

James serves the following counties: Atkinson, Bacon, Ben Hill, Berrien, Brooks, Coffee, Cook, Colquitt, Irwin, Lanier, Lowndes, Tift, and Thomas.

Here are a couple of little known facts about Denise James… 

It’s really no surprise that Denise loves science but she’s also a math whiz. Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, and even Accounting just come easy to her. 

She’s pretty confident she could win a jump rope competition one day.
