With 14 years of experience as a high school educator, Cherrita most recently taught business and computer science at Jefferson City Schools. She is passionate about transforming student lives. “My goal is to inspire confidence, create opportunities, and empower students to become independent adults who make a positive impact on the world.”
An entrepreneur at heart, Cherrita was a small business owner, designing curriculum and delivering training for logistics dispatchers.
Cherrita believes STEM opens doors to innovation, careers, and limitless possibilities. She will be delivering Learning Power’s engaging Pre-K–12 energy efficiency and STEM lessons in North Georgia, serving the counties of Cherokee, Dawson, Fannin, Forsyth, Gilmer, Habersham, Lumpkin, Pickens, Rabun, Towns, Union, and White.
A first-generation college graduate, Cherrita is a proud graduate of Fort Valley State University where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in marketing. She holds a Master of Arts in Special Education and Teaching; Education Specialist, Special Education; and Tier 1 Educational Leadership degrees from Valdosta State University. She also holds specializations in Google Project Manager and Google Data Analytics.
In her free time, Cherrita enjoys taking long walks, relaxing with a Mary Monroe novel, or working in her garden. She loves to travel, near and far, enjoying trips to Abu Dhabi, Egypt, Italy, Belize and more. Life is busy with three wonderful children, and together with her husband Brandon, Cherrita adores their Standard Poodle, Mr. Cain, who is known for his prance and pride—especially after grooming!
