Gulf Power

Business Recognition Award

Gulf PowerPartners-In-Education is available in nearly every county in Gulf Power's ten-county service area. Through this program, employees volunteer their time at area schools, helping with anything that is needed, from providing assistance in the classroom, helping out with school projects and events and giving class parties for the children. Send your request to education@gulfpower.com.

Gulf Power Safety City is Gulf Power's electrical safety program. Presentations include videos, handouts and conclude with a 20 minute demonstration using a ‘live-wire’ model of a neighborhood. The model enables us to safely demonstrate to the audience what happens when a person, vehicle, tree, or other item comes in contact with a power line. These demonstrations are typically presented to fourth grade students in schools served by Gulf Power, from Escambia to Washington County. However, we also offer tailored presentations to civic originations, emergency first responders, professional contractors and other public groups, who by the nature of their work may have potentially close exposure to our lines and equipment. For more information or to schedule a presentation call 850-444-6654 or send us an e-mail. Or visit Safety City online to learn more.

The titles of our four presentations and approximate class time are as follows:
The Shocking Truth – 1 hour, provided to area 4th graders and suitable for most school children
Contractor Beware – 1 hour, provided for professional contractors
Electrical Safety at Home and Work – 1 hour, provided for civic and community organizations
Recognizing and Avoiding the Hazard – 1 ½ hours, provided for First Responders
